Guarding Your Value in Christ

Knowing the Worth of What Christ Paid For

Hebrews 10:14 (NLT) says, “For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.”

Jesus Christ paid a price no one else could pay. When He went to the cross, He didn’t just die to forgive your sins — He died to restore your value. His blood sealed your worth once and for all. That one sacrifice was final; nothing more needs to be added. Colossians 2:10 (NLT) says, “So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.” In Him, you are whole, not missing anything. The world might measure your value by your success, your strength, or your status — but God measures it by the cross.

When you forget that, you start living beneath who you are. You settle for less, let people treat you like less, or let failure define you. But Jesus already determined your worth. You were bought with the highest price — paid in full.

Standing in Who You’ve Become

When you gave your life to Christ, the old version of you died. That means the guilt, the shame, and the insecurity that used to control you have no authority anymore. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) says, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” Knowing who you are in Christ doesn’t make you arrogant — it makes you secure. It’s not pride; it’s identity. You stop performing for approval because you realize you already have it from the only One who matters. That’s what it means to have God-confidence. It’s a strength that shows up when life starts showing out. You stand firm, not because you’re perfect, but because you know who holds you.

Protecting What God Calls Priceless

So what does it mean to guard your value in Christ? It means protecting your peace, your purpose, and your purity. It’s refusing to let the world define what only God can name. It’s staying rooted in truth when temptation, comparison, or pressure tries to pull you out of alignment.

Matthew 6:33 (NLT) says, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” When you keep God first, you stop needing validation from anyone else. You start walking with the confidence that comes from knowing your life is covered, your purpose is protected, and your worth is secure. You don’t need a spotlight to prove who you are — the cross already did that. Guard what God has given you. Walk in it. Live like you know you’re priceless. ■
